LEVEL TWO: NEUROPLAY PROGRAM

Reinforcing foundational learnings while creating an optimal workplace environment

Let's chat

FOUR SEQUENTIAL TAILORED MODULES

⏰ 6 HOURS • MAXIMUM 4 SESSIONS • 👥 6-15 PER GROUPING • 🏢 IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL

Continuing only from the Foundation Program within a nurturing and psychologically safe setting, we leverage applied improvisation (AIM) concepts to uncover underlying factors behind challenging daily scenarios and long-standing team issues. This integration enhances Human Intelligence (such as acceptance, respect and trust) within your teams, plus an expanded toolkit of strategies for diverse situations. These practices significantly improve outcomes, impacting everything from team dynamics to customer service, rewards and recognition, autonomy, and organizational values. All while having fun.

NP1: Integration

Reconvening, we look at what gains were made during the Foundation program, and where extra work may be needed to bring people up to being on the same page. We may also cover:

  • Being in the moment.
  • Introduction to the ‘Black Swan’ concept.
  • Dominance/subserviance.
  • Being in the flow state with others.
  • Misdirected communication (such as gossip or talking behind the back).

Continual development of LAB (Listening, Acceptance, Building on other’s ideas)

NP2: Convergence

We cover:

  • Further development and application of the ‘Black Swan’ active listening concept.
  • Meeting people where they are, not where you want them to be.
  • More difficult colleagues/buyers (dealing with them individually or with a team)
  • Conflict resolution
  • Adaptation to change and VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity).
  • Exploring and navigating diverse emotional and personal developmental states through recognition and playful engagement.
  • Emotions and consequences; choosing new pathways.

Continual development of LAB (Listening, Acceptance, Building on other’s ideas)

NP3: Culmination

We cover:

  • More difficult colleagues/buyers, especially as one team.
  • Presentations to applicable groups of people.

Continual development of LAB (Listening, Acceptance, Building on other’s ideas)

NP4: Synthesis

No new concepts introduced; instead, we focus on consolidating all NeuroPlay modules while revisiting and updating modules from the Foundation program to align with individual growth and evolution, and prepare participants for full application of applied improvisation at work (and at home).

ADD-ONS TO HELP DEEPEN THE IMPACT OF NEUROPLAY

INTERNAL COMPLIMENTS/RECOGNITION SYSTEM

A direct path to understanding and accepting colleagues, especially across teams.

TEAM VALUES BUILT FROM THE GROUND

Collaborative effort to define the culture and organisation and what it stands for. Allows stronger indentification and loyalty with where they work.

TEAM MEETINGS RUN EFFECTIVELY

We train team leaders to facilitate meetings that not only address the needs of all participants but also effectively achieve desired outcomes in less time.

CATALOGUE OF ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS

A list of common customer or workplace situations printed on cards or attached to keyrings., guiding staff on how to respond and be flexibile when needed. Use at the start or end of the day to bridge the gap between what staff could do and the actual situation.

BRAINSTORMING

Bring out problems-based mindset and move staff into a solution-based mindset. These address general issues or find new ideas to help the hotel and their teams. Those present can break off into groups towork through a problem or idea. Their results are then shared among all present, and a discussion can ensure.

“…in knowing improvisation and part of what improvisation does, when you’re doing it is it promotes divergent thinking, because you have no idea what the person across me was going to say you can’t prepare to respond to it, you have to listen to the last word and just go.”

“…what improvisation does is open you up to find things that are true.”

Barry Kaufman (18/7/2016), ‘The Science Of Creativity’, Second City Works’, https://www.secondcityworks.com/podcast-posts/guest-barry-kaufman

“What Improvisation does in its most simple form, is to take the focus off ourselves and allow us to dial down our personal judgement.”

Kelly Leonard, Tom Yorton (24/3/2021), ‘Yes, And: How Improvisation Reverses “No, but” Thinking and Improves Creativity and Collaboration – Lessons from the Second City – Chapter 2′, Harper Collins’, PDF
