Participants will take part in over a dozen fun activities, each designed to enhance the Human Intelligence of your participants. These activities target the typical human communication obstacles that get in the way of getting on with each other. All together, we’ll identify and dismantle the root causes of poor communication and collaboration. This collaborative effort will steer teams towards a more efficient and productive work dynamic, enabling them to perform at their peak.

All while having fun. And more. All in a positive and psychological safe environment.

UNIVERSAL PROBLEM:

Do your staff even get along?

Observed in: backstabbing, gossip, avoidance, resignation, low gain or static team productivity

ISSUES: Team apathy or mistrust leads to people closing off from each other. Invariably, attention gravitates towards issues with processes or pay. Negative attitudes spread a negative culture, which leading to higher absenteeism, dysfunctional communication, and potential turnover.

SOLUTIONS: With weekly group practices in ‘making your partner look good’ and ‘being in the present’. Over a number of weeks you will subtle and consistent changes in openness, laughter, helping beyond one’s self, and reduction in blocking language. These are all signs that people are caring and supporting each other more.

LENGTH OF TIME FOR CHANGE TO START OCCURRING: initial superficial changes (6 sessions) and long term changes (4-6 months).

REBOOTER GROUP PACKAGE: NeuroPlay + Maintenance.

The result will be observed in less complaining, instantaneous collaboration, staff working out problems quicker and in the moment (rather than letting them fester), which results in a 15-25% increase in operational team efficiency.

WHY APPLIED IMPROVISATION (AIM) ⛌ A COLLEAGIAL ATMOSPHERE IS KEY

Equipping your staff with the ability to accept, listen, and collaboratively build upon each other’s ideas is key to a successful team. Many workplace issues stem from employees not getting along or valuing each other, leading to team breakdowns and affecting the overall organization. Avoiding negative responses like ‘Yes/But’ or ‘No, not that’ is essential for strong team bonding.

In a positive workplace where respect, trust, and acceptance are fundamental, teams can achieve much more than expected. Such an environment allows the collective strength of the team to exceed that of individual contributions.

In AIM, making mistakes is part of the process, and it encourages teamwork and active listening. The skills gained in AIM, like vulnerability, emotional intelligence, and constructive interaction, enhance personal and professional relationships. Crossan (1998) suggests that management training through AIM allows leaders to better understand and navigate organizational challenges, fostering flexibility and teamwork.

Healthcare managers who engaged in an improv team-building workshop were rated as more cohesive than a control group based on higher measures of team innovation, safety in participation, task orientation, and a shared vision (Kirsten & Du Perez, 2010).

These programs use Improvisation games to enhance communication and presentation skills, develop leadership capacities, practice adaptability, improve presence with co-workers and clients, promote creativity and effective brainstorming, and much more (e.g., Leonard & Yorton, 2015; Lowe, 2000; Scinto, 2014; Stevenson, 2014).
